This is Richmond’s newest riding, carved out of the three former ones. It is the most densely populated Richmond riding and the second smallest in all of B.C., at seven square kilometres (Only Vancouver-False Creek is smaller). As noted by CBC, while the riding is new, polling stations within its boundaries supported the B.C. Liberals by 53.2 per cent to the NDP’s 23.6 per cent in the 2013 provincial election.

Constituents can really only expect two candidates knocking on their doors or buzzing their apartments, as the B.C. Green Party candidate Greg Powell lives in Castlegar.

However, they can expect to chat with two of the most popular candidates in Richmond — longtime Liberal MLA Linda Reid and popular city councillor and NDP candidate Chak Au.
