Seniors in Richmond who need help during the COVID-19 emergency will get help through Richmond Cares Richmond Gives (RCRG).

The non-profit has designated as a COVID-19 Response Agency by the province to support seniors during the health crisis.

Seniors who need help with grocery shopping, meal delivery, virtual visits and light housekeeping should reach out to BC211.ca and register for “New Safe Seniors, Strong Community Programs.” Alternatively, family members of seniors who need help can contact the BC211.

There will also be other support for seniors including a crisis line, counselling, health care, mental health support, legal support, services for new immigrants and financial assistance.

Many of RCRG's volunteers are seniors themselves and have stepped back due to social-distancing measures that have been put in place.

Those able to volunteer to help seniors in need should also reach out to BC211.ca.

The B.C. government has provided $50 million to increase supports to seniors across the province.
