Ricky's Country Restaurant on No.3 Road is celebrating kids going back to school with a  fundraising campaign.

From now to Nov. 11, $1 from every Wafflemania menu item sold will be donated to the Breakfast Club of Canada.

The Breakfast Club of Canada is a non-profit organization, which helps to feed more than 200,000 students in more than 1,600 schools every day.

“We agree with Breakfast Club of Canada that a good day starts with a good breakfast,” said Stacey Hansson, senior vice-president of Ricky’s Group of Family-style Restaurants.

“That’s why we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate kids going back to school than by donating $1 to the Breakfast Club of Canada for every Wafflemania item sold.”

The restaurant chain has a long-standing relationship with the organization.

Benjamin Neumer, senior business development advisor for the western Canada Breakfast Club of Canada, said the organization is grateful to the Ricky’s Group for raising awareness and funds for the cause.

“We believe Canada’s future lies with our next generation, and through the Ricky’s Group’s support we are able to reach more children across the country every school morning,” said Neumer.

The waffle breakfast items will be served every day of the promotion until 4 pm and the promotion will run in all Ricky's restaurants across the country.

The Breakfast Club of Canada has been ensuring as many children and youth as possible have access to a nutritious morning meal before school since 1994.
