Mental Illness Awareness Week is set to take place next week and two events at Richmond Hospital events will provide residents about understanding and maintaining their mental health.

On Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m., a film screening and discussion surrounding men’s mental health will provide extra insight into the specific challenges faced by men. After each film in the short series, a discussion with two panelists from the mental health field will follow.

Later in the week on Thursday at 7 p.m., guest speaker Fiona Jeyachandran will present a talk titled “This is your brain on emotions.” The interactive presentation aims to help attendees align their heart body and mind to deal with anxiety, depression, relationship issues and emotional turmoil.
