Various hotels around Metro Vancouver have been lighting up their rooms to create heart-shapes on their windows and a Richmond hotel has joined in as a way to say “thank you.”

On Tuesday, Radisson Vancouver posted a photo of their Richmond location displaying a giant heart made from the lights of selected rooms to say “thank you” to everyone during COVID-19.

“We are all in this together and we’re displaying our Heart of Radisson to say thank you to everyone doing their part to flatten the curve,” said the post on Twitter.

The heart-shaped displays are part of an initiative to support those working at the frontlines during COVID-19.

In addition, Richmond residents and almost every municipality in the Lower Mainland have adapted to yelling, whistling and the clanging of pots and pans at 7 p.m. as a way to thank healthcare and other frontline workers.
