COVID-19 has nothing on Richmond dancer Jaime Butler who is one of many people celebrating Vancouver’s biggest annual fair this year.

The Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) is celebrating their 110th anniversary with their first drive thru fair.

According to the PNE, the drive thru aspect allows everyone to still celebrate the fair while meeting COVID-19 safety protocols.

To participate in the fair, patrons are asked to reserve tickets ahead of time for a specific “drive thru” day and time slot.

Visitors with tickets will drive through Hastings Park where events including the Superdogs show, farm animals, agricultural displays as well as a reverse parade will take place.

There will also be food trucks and vendors for drivers to grab a snack from.

The PNE fair is open from Aug. 22 to 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per carload and payments for food are card only.
