Steveston boardwalk became a lot more colourful this weekend.
Darren Long spent Saturday creating bright, cheerful chalk drawings along the boardwalk to help lift people's spirits amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said he was inspired to create the images after seeing a chalk drawing on the boardwalk by the nearby preschool, with the message “keep positive, Steveston.”
“So I got the idea to grab my chalk and come out here and start doing some stuff to encourage people to be happy, to enjoy themselves and enjoy the sunshine,” said Long, who works as an aircraft refueler at YVR.
