Richmond’s annual street banner contest is back and residents can now vote for their favourite entries until 5 p.m. on Thursday.

This year, submissions ranged widely from photography, digital art, painting, illustration, printmaking and mixed media. Submissions were required to reflect one of the following themes: culture, arts, heritage, urban farming, active living, waterfront, nature, city centre, island city or transportation.

Over 1,000 street banners will be produced with the winning images and will be installed on street light poles from March 2019 to February 2020.

Semi-finalists' entries are available for viewing on the city’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CityofRichmondBC and votes can be cast by “liking” designs. Designs can also be seen at Richmond City Hall with votes being cast by email to parks@richmond.ca.

The 10 designs with the most “likes” and votes cast by Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. will be showcased around Richmond.
