Kudos: Steveston resident makes, donates masks and caps for school, workers

Students at Burnett secondary in Richmond and healthcare workers in the community have benefitted from the kind heart of Steveston resident Irene Collingwood.

Students at Burnett secondary in Richmond and healthcare workers in the community have benefitted from the kind heart of Steveston resident Irene Collingwood.

Collingwood has been sewing cloth face masks for the community members and asks for nothing in return but perhaps a donation of materials to continue to make more masks. 

She’s also making colourful scrub caps for front-line health care workers in the community.

“I had contacted her through Facebook and she kindly donated masks and book bags to our students,” said Burnett principal Wennie Walker, who added that some students who are on site, working with teachers and EAs.
