Ironwood Plaza will host a summer kickoff community barbecue on Saturday, June 22 while raising funds for Wigs for Kids, a program at BC Children’s Hospital which provides free, custom fitted, human-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other serious illnesses.
Hot dogs provided by Save-on-Foods will be on the grill with all proceeds from barbecue sales going to Wigs for Kids. Attendees will also have the chance to win giveaways from London Drugs as well as spin-to-win with Sugarfina prize wheel.
The barbecue runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Ironwood Plaza, 11666 Steveston Hwy.
With a live DJ, facepainting, Rain or Shine Ice Cream, beer garden, barbecue and giveaways, this family-friendly community event will have dining and entertainment for all ages.
The Wigs for Kids BC program is an entirely volunteer-run program out of BC Children’s Hospital. Wigs for Kids BC raises money year-round to provide free, custom fitted, human-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer or other serious illnesses.
