Have you ever wanted to learn more about the history of Steveston, perhaps while enjoying local food and beverage tastings?

Now in its second year, the Steveston Heritage Experience tour is kicking off a new season this weekend.

The three-hour guided walking tour run by Tourism Richmond will take visitors to various historic attractions in Steveston and serve selected local food and beverage tastings along the way.

Throughout the journey, guests will hear "eye-opening" tales of yesteryear village life, as told by "a chatty fisherman who seems to have just stepped from the streets of 1914,” according to Tourism Richmond.

The Steveston Heritage Experience attractions include Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site, Steveston Interurban Tram, Steveston Museum and Gulf of Georgia National Historic Site.

The first tour is scheduled for Saturday, May 25 and will run from 2 to 5 p.m. Other dates include June 15, July 13, Aug. 17, Sept. 14 and Oct. 5.

Tickets are $65 per person before tax and because spaces are limited, reservations, which are available here, are highly recommended.

If that sounds interesting, the Richmond News has two free tickets to give away for the Saturday, May 25 tour.

To enter for a chance to win, tell us in the comment section below this article which of the four Steveston spots that are a part of this tour (as mentioned in the article) you’re most excited about visiting.

Contest closes at 12 p.m. (noon) on Wednesday, May 22. Winner will be selected from those who commented and notified via the comment section. Winner must be able to pick up their tickets from the Richmond News office on Thursday or Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
