A pair of long time Steveston residents are hosting a garage sale Saturday, with all proceeds benefitting the BC Children’s Hospital.

Suzi Doggett – who has lived in Steveston for 25 years – says she’s had a long relationship with Summits of Hope, a group of adventure travel and mountaineering enthusiasts who pledge to raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital with every expedition.

“Their motto is ‘everybody has a mountain to climb, whether it’s a child in the hospital dealing with cancer treatment or the parents that are dealing with it or individuals, everybody has their own thing,” Doggett said.

Now, Doggett is moving to Whistler and wants to offload some of her items, including pieces of furniture.

“We’re trying to get rid of a bunch of stuff so we thought we’ll just give it away and try to make some money for the kids,” she said. “We’re pretty fortune. We’ve got all this stuff and there are other people that need it.

The garage sale begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at 4848 Duncliffe Rd. Those who can’t attend the garage sale but who are interested in donating to BC Children’s Hospital through Summits of Hope, can visit the donation page here.
