The City of Richmond is joining a national movement to sit less and move more.

The ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge runs from May 31 to June 16 and to kick it off, there will be a free Yoga in the Park event this Friday (May 31) at 6:30 p.m. at the Minoru Oval.

The goal of the Community Better Challenge is to engage people to get active and track all physical activity through the ParticipACTION mobile app or online platform.

Participants who use the mobile application or the online platform to track physical activity can earn rewards and are entered into weekly, monthly and quarterly draws for prizes.

In addition to the yoga event, a number of free activities are being offered over the two-week period.
