With Santa, bright lights, craft fairs, carolers and cheer, the holiday season has certainly settled on Richmond. In celebration, the Richmond Public Library has a whole host of free events scheduled throughout December and into January.

On Tuesday evening, families are invited to come dressed in their pajamas for a “cozy storytime” at 7 p.m. in the Ironwood branch. Can’t make it on Tuesday? The cozy storytime will also be held on Thursday, Dec. 13.

Also on Dec. 13 – at 4 p.m. – head on down to the Brighouse branch for Winterland Wonderland: A Holiday Celebration, which will feature a puppet show, sing-along, photo booth, games and self-guided story tour.

On Wednesday, Dec. 19, the Steveston branch will host a winter sing-along at 4 p.m. and the festivities will even continue into the new year with winter-themed writing games at the Cambie branch on Thursday, Jan. 3.

Finally, readers are invited to join in a holiday reading challenge, “The 14 Days of Reading,” beginning Dec. 23. Visit any public library branch for more details on the challenge or these events.
