As Presenting Sponsor for Richmond Hospital Foundation’s Community Cares Month now underway, NCIX Computers & Electronics knows how a helping hand can make a difference in local health care.

“A lot of our staff’s relatives have been using Richmond Hospital and we see the need for upgrades,” says Sam Li, Marketing Manager, NCIX Computers & Electronics.

Richmond Hospital Foundation’s 9th annual Community Cares Month is a month-long fundraising promotion that includes a series of events in September with a goal to unite members of our diverse community for a common cause — to donate to improve patient care at Richmond Hospital. With multiple fundraising events and promotion in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, Community Cares Month reaches into our community like no other event in Richmond.

This is NCIX’s second year as Presenting Sponsor. Founded in 1996, NCIX has always believed in charitable giving, but was looking to get involved with a big event. Being based in Richmond, helping the hospital through Community Cares Month was a natural fit.

“Richmond is our backyard,” Li says. “We see a growing number of people here in Richmond, but really the hospital has not been updated as quickly.”

NCIX Computers & Electronics is one of Canada's leading technology retailers, offering a wide array of electronics, computers, laptops, mobile services, TVs, computer hardware, IT services and computer repair. With that business perspective, Li says he understands the role for donors to help replace aging medical equipment and infrastructure in a rapidly evolving field.

“Since we are in this industry we see that technology can really help patients a lot and is very key. How quickly we can get this equipment to patients is very crucial,” Li says.

In addition to being the Presenting Sponsor for Community Cares Month, NCIX Computers & Electronics is holding a promotion both online ncix.com/subpromo/1289.htmand in-store, including its two Richmond locations at Aberdeen Centre and Lansdowne Centre. From now until the end of September, when purchasing any of the designated Community Cares Products, 100 per cent of the proceeds of the sales will be donated to Richmond Hospital Foundation.

Last year’s promotion raised more than $13,000 for Richmond Hospital Foundation. This year, NCIX is offering up an even larger selection of Community Cares products.

Headquartered in Richmond, NCIX Computers & Electronics has grown over the years with other locations in Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, and the U.S. With a longstanding presence in Richmond, Li says NCIX Computers & Electronics is committed to the community and is showing its support for local health care to help save lives.
