Nature’s Essence is used to helping their customers live a healthier life through the products they sell, but now, they are promoting a healthier life directly through their philanthropic donations to improving Richmond Hospital.

With four stores, including two in Richmond, General Manager Raymond Lin took over the business from his now-retired parents in 2006. It was the example his parents set that helped Raymond realize the importance of contributing back to your community.

“My parents always encouraged me and my sisters to give back to causes that we were passionate about,” says Raymond. “Our business strives to improve the health of our customers and so it was easy to be very passionate about improving the health of Richmond citizens.”

Richmond has always been home for Nature’s Essence. Their first store opened in Richmond in 1997 and their corporate headquarters are also located here.

“We owe a lot of our success to Richmond and we try to give back as much as possible and the most natural way for us to do that is by supporting our local hospital,” says Raymond.

Richmond’s growing population has been a boon to Nature’s Essence success, Raymond says. . As it continues to grow each year, Raymond sees the need for improvements to the local infrastructure to meet this growth.

“The number of patients is always growing and there are going to be more needs for the hospital to help meet this increase,” says Raymond. “It’s important for us to do our part in helping to provide Richmond with a top-notch, advanced facility that is available to all the residents.”

Raymond sees Richmond Hospital as a place where many will require care at some point in their lives, and he hopes that other businesses in Richmond can rally together in support of the local hospital.

“We are just playing a small part but if other businesses can also play a small part too, together, we will improve Richmond Hospital and make this city a healthier place to live in,” says Raymond.

To date, Nature’s Essence has contributed $40,000 towards the new Acute Care Tower at Richmond Hospital and are committed to contributing more in the future.
