A Richmond greenhouse facility will now be able to process their dried cannabis products with a newly acquired license.

The 78,000 square foot cannabis facility, managed by Vancouver-based Emerald Health Therapeutics, was issued a “standard processing license” permit from Health Canada allowing the site to process its cannabis products on top of growing it.

The new license will allow the Richmond site to manufacture and package products made from the cannabis plant such as concentrates, according to the company in a statement.

Riaz Bandali, CEO of Emerald Health Therapeutics, said the license will help “enhance” manufacturing and distribution activities.

“With our primary focus going forward being on utilizing science-based innovation to develop unique, high margin products for our customer base, this new license adds to the flexibility and opportunity we have to enhance and/or streamline various manufacturing activities in our own facilities to capture additional margin and cost efficiencies,” said Bandali.

Emerald Health Therapeutics focuses on producing medical cannabis products as well as recreational cannabis and non-cannabis products.
