Richmond indie performer hitting the stage at Garden City

Indie folk singer and Richmond resident, Allie Mcdonald, will hit the stage at the second Concert in the Park this evening.

Born in northern Alberta, Mcdonald discovered her love for music when she was seven years old and moved to Richmond eight years ago to be more involved in the music scene in the Lower Mainland.

“It took me a year to get into it, but there are so much music opportunities here,” said Mcdonald.

She frequently performs at local shows and festivals, singing with her electric piano or guitar.

Besides performing, Mcdonald is also the social media coordinator of the Richmond Arts Coalition, where she found out about the concerts in the park series.

“I like to think that my music is versatile – there’s something for everyone to enjoy,” McDonald said.

Concert goers can expect original songs by Mcdonald as well as music from older generations and the folk genre.

Catch Mcdonald’s performance tonight at north side of Garden City park, starting at 6:30 p.m.
