The Vancouver Concert Orchestra is playing a special show in Richmond Friday evening to benefit a children’s hospice in Vancouver.

The 2019 New Year’s Charity Concert beings at the River Rock Theatre at 7:30 p.m., and promises a memorable musical journey led by conductor Bujar Llapaj.

“This event embodies the beauty and compassion of a community committed to supporting pediatric palliative care in B.C.,” organizers said in a release.

Proceeds from the show will benefit Canuck Place, a medical facility in Shaughnessy that cares for children approaching the end of their life.
