Digital Carnival 2018: Featured Artists Lisa Birke & Terrance Houle

Interdisciplinary artist Terrance Houle and video artist Lisa Birke showcase their collaborative project, Different Ways. Farooq Rai, Richmond-based Canadian artist of Pakistani origin, considers the inspirational message of Allama Iqbal (poet and philosopher b. 1877) as a means to preserve a unique cultural identity and heritage within British Columbia. The exhibition presents a selection of Rai's unique collage's highlighting Arabic/Urdu calligraphy and a message of peace and harmony.

Australia's Thunder from Down Under

Dianna David: Make Moves

Eighth annual Steveston Grand Prix of Art

The picturesque fishing village of Steveston is the stunning location for the eighth annual Grand Prix of Art. More than 100 artists of all ages and experience levels join us for a day of intense fun and competition, artists race against the clock in this three hour painting challenge. The competition starts at 10am, and ends at 1pm. Artists are assigned painting locations throughout Steveston Village. The exhibition is open to the public from 3pm – 6pm on Saturday and will remain on display at Britannia Heritage Shipyards National Historic Site until Sunday, September 23rd from 12-pm – 4pm.

Weaving Our Way includes the display of small individual weavings, their accompanying stories, and a collective collaborative blanket. The exhibition will explore the theme of Musqueam weaving, artistry, story-telling, and community organizing, showcasing a multiplicity of heritage in the form of contemporary woven public art. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition – Real Artifacts, Real Stories

Please visit the Exhibition and take a trip back in time. The exhibition features real artifacts recovered from the ocean floor along with room re-creations and personal histories, each highlighting a different chapter in the compelling story of Titanic’s maiden voyage. Board Titanic using a replica White Star Line boarding pass belonging to an actual passenger, touch an iceberg, and learn about artifact recovery and conservation.
