Programs back in studio at the Richmond Arts Centre

Drawing, jazz and musical theatre are among the programs set to “gradually” return to the Richmond Arts Centre and Media Lab next month, according to the City of Richmond.

Virtual classes will kick off Thursday, Nov. 5, while in-studio programs will return a week later, on Thursday, Nov. 12.

The Richmond Arts Centre and Media Lab are both located in the Richmond Cultural Centre, at 7700 Minoru Gate.

Programs for children, youth and adults will include drawing, painting, ballet, jazz, comics creation, drama, musical theatre, ceramics and yoga, among others.

Pre-registration for all indoor programs is required, and can be done now:

  • Online at richmond.ca/register, using your MyRichmond account.
  • By calling the registration call centre at 604-276-4300

Only pre-registered clients will be permitted into the facility.

The city says that strict health and safety protocols will be in place, including physical distancing and no sharing of art supplies, water bottles, towels, mats or other items. Other safety requirements will be shared upon registration.

Anyone registering should not have had signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or experienced any in the previous 10 days.

Furthermore, those registering should not have returned from outside Canada in the previous 14 days or been in contact with someone who has a presumed or confirmed case of COVID-19.
