A psychiatric patient has gone missing after a day-visit to his brother’s Richmond home.

A Canada-wide warrant has now been issued for the arrest of Kurt Derksen, 58 — a patient at the Colony Farm Forensic Psychiatric Hospital in Coquitlam.

Derksen had been on a day-pass from the facility to visit his brother in Richmond last Thursday.

While his brother was preoccupied with another matter, Derksen left his brother's house sometime between noon and 2:30 p.m.

He is described as a Caucasian male, 5' 9" tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has short brown hair and blue eyes, has a full beard and is possibly wearing glasses.

If sighted, police are warning people not to approach him and, instead, immediately contact your nearest police department by calling 9-1-1.
