They came so close, but it wasn’t quite enough — Richmond hip-hop group Freshh has narrowly missed out on national glory.

The seven boys, age 13 to 17, made it into the final three acts out of 12 finalists on Citytv’s Canada’s Got Talent on Monday night.

But they lost out on the public vote to traditional dance trio Sagkeeng — three teenagers from Fort Alexander, MB,’s who won $100,000, a Nissan GT-R, tickets for an all-inclusive trip to the island of Tobago, a spot in Citytv’s New Year’s Bash, a chance to perform in a Las Vegas show, and the title of Canada’s Most Talented Act.

Freshh — MC Stewart, Zac Vran, Ryan Morrissette, Devan Isaac, Justin Nicolas, Matthew Cortez and Gabe Galedo — are a product of Viscount Way-based Fresh Groove Productions.
