Richmond Sports Awards finalists announced

Winners will be recognized at next month's 19th annual banquet

From top left 2017 B.C. Junior golf champion Alisha Lau, multi-sport standout Seth Wong-Hen and U18 Richmond United treble winners are among the many finalists for the 19th annual Richmond Sports Awards. Winners in a variety of categories will be announced at next month's banquet.

The finalists have been announced for the 19th annual Richmond Sports Awards.

Overseen by the Richmond Sports Council and its selection committee, the program recognizes athletic excellence, leadership and contribution in 2017 and beyond.

The categories include: High School Female Athlete, High School Male Athlete, Junior Female Athlete, Junior Male Athlete, Post Secondary Female Athlete, Post Secondary Male Athlete, Adult Female Athlete, Adult Male Athlete, Senior Female Athlete, Male Senior Athlete, Athlete with a Disability, Special Olympic Athlete, Female Youth Team, Male Youth Team, Adult Team, Official, Coach and Administrator.

The winners will be announced at the Richmond Sports Awards banquet, Thursday, April 26 (6 p.m.) at the McMath Secondary School Rotunda. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by contacting petermitchell@shaw.ca. They will also will be available online starting April 1.
