Richmond athletes headed to Kamloops for B.C. Winter Games

The B.C. Winter Games starts Thursday in Kamloops with competition in 19 different sports.

 

Richmond will be well-represented at this week’s B.C. Winter Games in Kamloops.

The four-day biennial event will bring together over 1,500 athletes from across the province to compete in 19 different sports being held in 11 venues throughout the Kamloops area. Richmond is part of the Vancouver-Coastal Zone that also features athletes from Delta, Vancouver, North Shore, Sunshine Coast, Squamish and Whistler.

Representing Richmond are:

Archery: Momoki Irie.

Badminton: Charlton Tan, Andreas Chan, Brandon Chen, Isaac Fung, Colin Law, Darlene Prijatelj.

Basketball (Special Olympics): Nicky Chow, Vincent Li, Brayden Pawer, David Swann, Cullen Yee, Hamza Elburai.

Curling: Noah Argao, Jack Bradley, Michael Nunn, Johnson Tao.

Figure Skating: Ellie Cheung, Isabella Jin, David Li, Victor Lum.

Figure Skating (Special Olympics): Matthew Lai.

Gymnastics: Amy Bates, Luca Liu, Alexander Shlvock, Russell Woodward.

Judo: Kylee Esparbes, Gavann Gill, Emma Kucher, Alexandra Kucher, Alex Ordano, Lola Shearer, Ryu Tamayose, Noah Veillette.

Karate: Vikrant Anandkumar.

Ringette: Makayla Anderson.

Speed Skating: Giang-Vi Nguyen, Lan-Vi Nguyen, Emilee Stewart.
