First place in B.C. High School Football’s Southern AA Conference will be on the line when the Hugh Boyd Trojans look to continue their best start in recent memory on Friday night.

The Trojans will play host to the Frank Hurt Hornets in a clash of unbeatens at 7:30 p.m. Boyd (2-0) is coming off an impressive 38-6 home field win over Moscrop while Frank Hurt had a bye week after trimming Holy Cross 19-18 two weeks earlier.

A Boyd victory would clinch to spot and secure a top seed for next month’s provincial playoffs.

Last Friday, Gabe Saklofsky ran in a pair of majors and quarterback Tyler Moxin hooked-up with Austin Do for two more in the lopsided win over Moscrop. Jacob Tubajon also found the end zone and defensive lineman Darby Kwan rounded out the scoring on a fumble recovery.

The Burnaby school’s only major came on a kick return.

The Trojans jumped right into conference play after last month's B.C. teacher's labour dispute wiped out their exhibition schedule. Boyd will close out its league schedule against Holy Cross on Oct. 31.
