In the warm-up for the 2014 B.C. Winter Games, Hemlock Ski Club hosted the B.C. Alpine's Coast zone playdowns with a handful of strong local results.

Hemlock's Jason Forster, a Coquitlam native, secured a medal for most improved slalom skier after finishing 26th out of a field of 53 racers.

Port Moody's Katrina Voss posted the club's best finish when she placed eighth out of 39 skiers in the ladies giant slalom event. Coming in 15th in ladies ski cross was Port Moody's Lena Liljedahl, who joins Forster, Voss and Abbotsford's Megan Kardoes on the under-14 Hemlock ski team.

Hemlock, in its 43 rd year as a ski resort, will host the 2014 B.C. Winter Games' alpine, freestyle and cross country skiing events.
