Letter: Doing the right thing is always right

Dear Editor,

Re: “‘Normal’ neighbours have problems, too,” Letters, April 12.

I’m happy to read Christine Durgo’s words that show she intuitively understands that, consistent with temporary modular housing data, crime goes down. Also worthy of note: property values do NOT decrease.

Electioneering notwithstanding, I call upon our mayor and council to vote on the basis of what’s right for Richmond, regardless of how the popular opinion is at the time. Opinions change, but doing right is always the right move.

I get it, you NIMBYs don’t want homeless, including smelly addicts, near you.

So support making them formerly homeless, with showers and addiction help. No brainer!
