Greg Morris made it look easy, like a Sunday afternoon walk in the park.

Only this was better described as a 231-yard romp on the turf as the second-year Westshore Rebels runningback dismantled the Chilliwack Huskers' defence in a 58-0 whitewash in B.C. Football Conference play - the team's third straight victory.

The 2011 BCFC rookie of the year had four touchdowns - three along the ground and one through the air - in the one-sided win at Bear Mountain Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

What was more impressive was Morris amassed the unofficial total on just 10 carries for a 23-yard average. The performance included touchdown gallops of 85 and 63 yards, to go along with a short two-yard score. His other major was a five-yard TD catch from Mark Black.

"Our offensive line was good and everybody did their jobs today," said Morris, who came out of the game after the third quarter. "Everything clicked today."

Black was just as impressive, throwing for three majors and completing 15 of 25 passes for 297 yards. Black spread the ball around nicely, adding a 31-yard TD pass to Vinnie Cannata and a 15-yard major to Cat Todorovich, who stood out among the receivers with five grabs for roughly 103 yards.

"Finally, I had a little breakout game," said Todorovich, who seems to have accepted his role as a receiver this year after playing quarterback last season. "I wouldn't call it accepted. I would call it doing what I need to do to be a leader.

"It's my role. Each player has a role and I'm just trying to do mine as best as possible."

As has Black, his replacement at starting QB, who has improved immensely the last few weeks.

"I've been telling Mark for a couple of weeks now that he has one of the best arms in the country. Finally, we got to see it on that one ball in the corner [of the end zone] to Vinnie," Todorovich said of the impressive strike. "He finally let it loose. It's good to see him start throwing the ball like we know he can."

Johnny Quan added a two-yard touchdown run in the romp, while kicker Quinn Van Gylswyk had field goals of 32 and 47 yards. He also missed one wide right from 37 that went for a single and the defence added a safety touch.

Rookie Connor Willis added 20 yards rushing on just three carries and an 18-yard reception.

Defensively, Wyatt Gray had a pair of quarterback sacks for the Rebels, while Chris Pastro and Nicholas Swaby added one apiece. Braeden Swatez added an interception for the Rebels, who improve to 3-1 on the season, alone in third place in the BCFC behind the 301 Langley Rams and Vancouver Island Raiders.

"It was a good win. The guys really played hard," said interim head coach Scott Mennie, who took over while John Cardilicchia is away. "We really wanted to distance ourselves in the top of the pack and not the bottom. We wanted to come out and prove a point, prove a point to Kelowna, who we're going to see in two weeks."

After the league-wide bye week this weekend, the Rebels get back to work Sept. 8, in Kelowna as they face the 1-3 Okanagan Sun at the Apple Bowl.
