Get ready to celebrate, outlet mall shoppers. McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport is expanding by 84,000 square feet, the mall announced today.
This phase of the outlet mall’s expansion is part of its plan to develop over 1.6 million square feet of retail space in the next three years. is the full expansion is expected to be completed finish by spring 2019, adding 35 new brands to the centre and generating 400 jobs in both construction and retail.
Tourists are major visitors to the outlet mall, since it’s located only two SkyTrain stops away from the Vancouver International Airport.
“Shopping, Chinese restaurants, visiting Steveston – those are the top three things visitors want to do while in Richmond,” said Bruce Okabe, chief executive officer of Tourism Richmond.
Due to its popularity to travellers, the centre hires multilingual employees. It also displays real-time flight information on digital screens throughout the centre and provides free charging stations and a luggage locker facility.
