A Mountie in Richmond, B.C. has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.
The charge against Const. Inderpal Bal involves an arrest he took part in on Jan. 26.
Other officers at the scene brought their concerns about Bals conduct to the attention of a supervisor and the Surrey RCMP was called in to investigate.
In a written statement, the Mounties say the person who was arrested in the incident had to be treated in hospital, but the case is now before the courts and theyre offering no further comment.
Bal remains on active duty, but the RCMP say he is under close supervision.
