Richmond News and Chamber of Commerce to host public all-candidates debate at Gateway

With Richmondites heading to polls on May 9, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and Richmond News are partnering to host an all-candidates debate April 26 at Gateway Theatre.

With Richmondites heading to polls on May 9, the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and Richmond News are partnering to host an all-candidates debate April 26 at Gateway Theatre. 

What is an all-candidates debate? 

An all-candidates debate (also known as an all-candidates meeting) is an occasion for voters to hear from all people standing for election. Expect to hear about local and provincial issues and hear from each candidate why they believe they deserve your vote.   

Who is participating? 

A public request was put forward for all local candidates to confirm their attendance by March 23. Candidates confirmed for all four Richmond ridings are (alphabetically):

How can you participate?   

This public event is free to attend. Gateway Theatre is an accessible venue in the heart of Richmond, a 10-minute walk from Brighouse Station on the CanadaLine. Gateway Theatre is located at the corner of Westminster Highway and Gilbert Road.

Attendees at the debate will be able to pose questions to the candidates through the PigeonHoleLive app.  (Those without access to a smartphone will be provided assistance in entering their questions.) 

This event will also be broadcast on FacebookLive from 6 p.m. (PST) on the evening of the debate. “Like” the Richmond Chamber of Commerce page on Facebook to ensure you don’t miss a minute.
