Around 4 p.m. this afternoon, a major car accident happened in front of the Richmond International Buddhism Temple, at the intersection of Steveston Highway and Mortfield Gate.
An ambulance and a Chevrolet SUV were involved. The front bumper and hood of the ambulance were destroyed, with debris littered over the ground between the two vehicles. The rear bumper of the SUV, as well as the trunk were caved in.
It is unknown right now how this accident occurred. Fire rescue, Richmond RCMP and Service Canada were on site.
