Chilliwack RCMP have released a new hotspot bulletin.

Police have singled out four so-called hot spots: two north of Highway 1 and two south of the highway.

Mounties say a broad area of north Chilliwack just south of Fairfield Island experienced a rash of crime over a one-week period in late April.

Police say 10 thefts from motor vehicles, four residential break-and-enters, two business B&Es and one break-and-enter to a shed were reported between April 18 and 25. In many of the thefts from cars, the vehicles were left unlocked.

Another hot spot includes downtown Chilliwack between First Avenue in the south, Reece Avenue in the north, Robson Street to the west and Hazel Street to the east. That area experienced three thefts from vehicles and five residential break-and-enters between April 16 and 29.

A third hot spot is located in Sardis and centred around the malls, from Evans Road east to Vedder Road and ranging down to Spruce Drive in the south. The area saw two business B&Es and two residential break-and-enters, along with two thefts from vehicles, between April 17 and 26.

Finally, Garrison Crossing and the area around the Pacific Region Training Centre in Canada Education Park remains a hot spot.

The area, including Watson Glen Park, saw two break-and-enters and six vehicle crimes reported between April 19 and 26.
