Donating blood can save lives. According to Canadian Blood Services, approximately every minute of every day, someone in Canada needs blood. That's why they're encouraging people to donate blood at the Canadian Blood Services Bloodmobile that's coming to the Richmond Library and Cultural Centre Jan. 11 from 9 a.m. - 3: 15 p.m.
Donors are asked to book their appointment in advance. To register to donate blood or to find out if you're eligible call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283). There are a few basic requirements for blood donation: You must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 lbs., and be in generally good health and feeling well. ID is also required.
