Tree of Life

The Shoppers Drug Mart Tree of Life campaign, run jointly with the Burnaby Hospital Foundation, raised $6,130 to go towards purchasing a birthing bed for the hospital's maternity ward.

Three Burnaby Shoppers Drug Mart locations worked to raise the funds - Centrepoint store at 4827 Kingsway, the Old Orchard store at 4800 Kingsway and the Metropolis at Metrotown store at 4429 Kingsway - with customers purchasing a leaf for the paper tree for $1, a butterfly for $5 or a cardinal for $50.

Employees also contributed by hosting pub nights and events to help raise the money.

A birthing bed costs about $21,000.
