Stroll through the historic community of Burkeville on foot exploring this neighbourhood’s unique characteristics. Meeting spot: Burkeville Park playground (between Airport Drive and Catalina Crescent).

Sunday, May 20

Buddha’s Birthday Celebration and Fundraiser at Lingyen Mountain Temple

9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (Bathing Buddha ceremony)

To celebrate the birthday of Shakyamuni Buddha, the temple will hold the Bathing of the Buddha Ceremony. From bathing the Buddha, participants will attain wonderful merits, virtues and wisdom and transfer these to all sentient beings. Located at 10060 No. Rd.

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Fundraising Bazaar)

To raise funds for the temple’s expansion project, Lingyen Mountain Temple is inviting everyone in the community to a charity event where a variety of items will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to the construction of the extension. Located at 10060 No. Rd.

Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market

10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

With entertainment playing and vendors striking up light conversation with customers throughout the day, the Steveston Farmers and Artisans Market creates a friendly, social environment for you to spend your afternoon. Whether you’re buying fresh locally grown produce, grabbing a bite to eat, enjoying the craftsmanship of some of the artisans, or simply strolling through the market enjoying the day, the market has something to offer for everyone. Located in the parking lot across the street from the Steveston Community Centre.

Vancouver Lipont Art Centre: Artist Talk and Slideshow

Artists of "13 Feet off the Ground" a collective of established female artists based in Vancouver, will share their experience of the residency program, 'Graniti Murales', in Sicily. Admission is free. Located at 4211 No. 3 Rd.
