Richmond Maritime Festival is an annual summer event.

Got a passion for seas and ships? The City of Richmond is calling for submissions from local visual artists and graphic designers to create this year’s artwork for the 15th annual Richmond Maritime Festival.

Not only will the winner receive a $500 honorarium, but their work, which needs to convey Steveston’s maritime and wooden boat heritage, will be seen throughout Metro Vancouver on brochures, transit, site décor, promotional materials and online advertising.

This year, the festival runs from July 28-29 at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. The event is one of Richmond’s most popular during the summer, and draws tens of thousands of attendees.

Artists who are interested need to submit a portfolio of up to five electronic copies of work samples by Friday, March 30 via email to [email protected]. The winner will be announced in April and the final artwork will be made public in early June.
