Summer concerts across the city

Summer is certainly the time to get out and enjoy the city and this year, multiple concert series are scheduled to help Richmondites do just that.

Summer is certainly the time to get out and enjoy the city and this year, multiple concert series are scheduled to help Richmondites do just that.

First, the Richmond City Centre Community Association is hosting a “Concerts in the Park” series on every Wednesday in July and August. From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., gather in Garden City Park for live entertainment, arts and crafts, face painting and more at this family-friendly event.

Also, on Friday nights from July 13 to Aug. 31, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery will host its summer evening concert series, Music at the Cannery. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the family-friendly night of music will feature a wide range of genres including folk, jazz, swing, blues rock and more. Concerts will be on the cannery’s outdoor Tank Deck, or inside in case of rain.

If it’s raining, the event will be cancelled.
